# Intro to Zilch

## Overview

Welcome to Zilch Documentation. Zilch is aiming to be the first hybrid zk-rollup on solana, that will allow 100x+ higher scalability of on-chain computation, at a low, fixed cost.

> Zilch is a platform for scalable general purpose computation, utilising Solana as the proof-commitment and orderbook layer. With Zilch, developers can surpass the computational limitations of Solana L1, and potentially execute arbitrarily complex logic, with virtually the same correctness gurantees as the solana L1 itself.
